Our Organic Cacao is grown in its original habitat in the Amazon region of Peru, using sustainable farming practices and promoting healthy living conditions for farmers and their families. Cultivated by removing the mature pods from the tree by hand, split open and seeds scooped out to be fermented for a week, before being made in the potent single origin Criollo variety paste we use in our Cacao Ceremonies.
Aztec, Mayan and Inca warriors were given Cacao before battle or a sacred hand-ball competition. The crushed core of the cacao bean contains a wealth of essential minerals including magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, potassium and phosphorus.
